you’re right. there are people that dont want to integrate themselves. but there are others that do, and i think they should be given credit for that. unfortunately all too often one black sheep makes everybody else look bad. or vice versa, all the black sheep make those exceptions who want to do well, look bad. europe may be too lax when it comes to integration, but i think japan is far too strict. there should be an equal equilibruim

indeed but in the end a great amount of people dont give a toss about integration and it would definitaly change the country and its people, example is france with kilometers of argelian and muslim culture with no will to adapt and integrate whatsoever

u dont think ******* due to overwork is an issue? i certainly do. as for wanting to preserve their culture, it can be a good thing, but why not both? they already preserve their ancient japan while being one of the most innovative societies to date, so why not use that quality and be more multicultural? even if foreigners make efforts to get integrated, it still seems like they dont get fully accepted. japan alienates itself from the rest of the world by being too overprotective on that matter

Cheers for the reply, although i can see how the sesmic activity is a problem i definitly cant see how the other ones are an issue, they are like that (light xenophobes) for a good cause, they like to keep their cultural identity and preserve their costumes which is awesome.. if you were to go to certain cities in europe youll be shocked with how much they transformed themselves into something else

certainly. for starters, japan is a country with a lot of seismic activity. next, lots of ppl tend to resort to ******* as a last resort since its morally acceptable in japanese society. ******* due to overwork is problematic as well. next, japanese generally are quite biased towards foreigners. they may tolerate them, but not accept them. and there may be a bit too much of the ‘group mentality’ in japan. those that differ a little from the rest of the group get chucked out.

i agree that japan is a very nice country, but they have lots of problems of their own, don’t forget that. there isn’t really any country in the world that is ‘better’ than another to live in. it’s up to the individual himself to figure out if the advantages weigh up to the disadvantages
